At an all-time high weight of over 400lbs and couldn’t run more than 50 feet, it was time to make a change.
After not wanting to spend all my time in the gym I got into the endurance world with my first half marathon at over 350lbs and it took me almost 4 hours to walk/run the whole thing. After completing my first Ironman in 2014 using the typical carbohydrates are king mentality and gaining over 60lbs back I knew there had to be a different way to approach endurance sports.
After studying Metabolic Efficiency Training™ from Bob Seebohar and getting certified I knew I was onto something. Since taking a more LCHF/Ketogenic approach to fueling, I felt better, trained better, and recovered better. Since switching to fewer carbs and more fat in 2015 I’ve completed 3 full Ironman’s completely LCHF/Ketogenic with no stomach issues, no weight gain, and feeling awesome the morning after. Best of all I toed the start line at 200lbs and have kept the weight off since and my health markers have never been better.
It's my passion to spread awareness that there are alternative ways out there to run your body for endurance sports where you don’t have to worry about if you’re going to have GI issues at any point of the race and you can train and lose weight without any crashes.
